Is your association considering investing in an AMS package? AMS, short for association management software, is an integrated online solution to manage your membership data base, event registration, committees, website, e-commerce, email blasts, etc.

I have worked with two client associations in selecting and transitioning to an AMS. After reaching “there’s gotta be a better way” consensus, we went through the lengthy process of sending requests for proposal, conference call meetings, vendor demonstrations, more conference calls, checking references, etc. etc.

Today I was excited to read in the Associations Now e-zine about the website, Association professionals are encouraged to post reviews of their AMS systems for their peers to read. This service is free if you post a review. Access is $99 for one year, which I consider a nominal investment to learn about the good, bad and ugly.

Good luck!
