Karen Fouts is Account Manager at Sharper Associations. She is a marketing/communications and event planning specialist with more than 25 years experience in corporate-client relations. She began her career with The Sidwell Company in their production operation, and went on to serve as a production manager, a project manager, and ultimately as Marketing Manager, where she coordinated and planned logistics for state association annual conferences; developed and delivered state-accredited educational curricula; managed trade shows; managed newsletters, public relations and promotional campaigns; and developed proposals resulting in more than $8,000,000 in business from 2004-2010. Most recently, Karen has received a certificate in Paralegal Studies and has worked as a paralegal/legal assistant for various law firms in DuPage County; she has also coordinated events for the National Speakers Association-IL Chapter and Elburn Lions Community Park.
Karen was born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago, where she still lives today with her two German Shorthair Pointers. Karen is an active volunteer with Illinois Shorthair Rescue, a dog breed-specific rescue group, as well as the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Her other interests and spare time activities include reading, working out, and pursuing the elusive front-row ticket to any rock concert by her favorite artists.
Karen understands the challenges faced by professional associations as they strive to serve their members at the highest and best level possible. She is dedicated to meeting and exceeding all association objectives, while at the same time ensuring maximum member satisfaction and active participation.
